I just finished reading this book. I love it so much that I couldn’t put it down until I devour the whole book. Read it in one sitting. Not only is the writing excellent, the story itself is good and emotional— almost brought tears to the eyes.
The book tells the story of Deana who on the verge of death strikes a deal with God. I don’t want to give away too much of the book, but this is indeed an amazing and inspirational story. The characters are well developed and not perfect which made it easy for readers to relate to this characters.
For those who demand imaginative and excellent writing, this is the book you’re looking for. I recommend this book for anyone looking for something good to read.
Hmmm, I haven't read a lot of books that include GOD. It was a little strange for me at first and I could not quite understand it. Then again, while I continued reading it started getting to me. I began understanding.

For me "Deal with God" is one of those books that you can see trough your ow eyes. One of those books in which you can always find something suitable for you, something that can help you while you are reading it. What I found inside that book was Deanah's will to survive and go around with her life..... If she could manage it, that I can too!!!!

Brilliant, poignant, and heartfelt, are the 3 words best describe "A Deal With God". I have not read a page turner like this one in quite some time. Michael Haden took tragedy, and turned it into beauty. This story is so rich in detail, and the warmth of finding love and companionship twice in a lifetime. My wife and I both read this book, and my wife gushed, and cried, and told me how much she loved and appreciated me. I felt the same, and could better understand the gravity of our covenant and importance to each other. I really loved Deana's interaction with Leon's boys, and the clever ways she was able to discipline them. She was poised and kept her composure, allowing the children to see her as a respectable parental figure, and not just some woman on their father's arm. This book was a blessing to read, and will definitely stay in my collection.

After her car accident, Deana Murphy lies in a coma in the hospital for several weeks before suddenly flat lining. It is then that God appears, and offers Deana a second chance, though He has something to ask of her in return. Deana stays true to herself, overcoming adversity in the same way she has for her entire life, whilst also never doubting God's will, and keeping her promise.

I loved reading this book, and read it much quicker than I usually read books. I was always wondering what's going to happen next, and enjoyed watching Deana adapt to her new circumstances.

By the end I felt as if I too knew Deana, and I am sad such an incredible young woman never had the chance to reach her full potential in real life.
If only rating for the story ideas, I would have rate this book with a 5. It was difficult to be fully engaged because the story was mostly told rather than shown, I'd say 90% of it felt like reading the account in a newspaper or reading the rough outline for the story rather than getting any kind of feeling of being present with the story. Even the dialogue was often more telling than showing. Also, I was very surprised that a Christian story would be OK with premarital sex. Really?!? In spite of the negatives, Deanna was an awesome character, and point was well made about the power of one.
I highly respect the author's motivation for writing this book, and I hope that people who knew this girl will enjoy this memorial in her honor. That aside, as a woman, the book was hard at times for me to read, as the heroine comes across as the "perfect" woman - has endless energy, does way more than the average person can do, does everything perfectly, and is without fail a blessing to everyone whose life she touches. There is no way I or any other woman (or man) could measure up to this standard, so I hope no one who reads the book thinks that they can, or will find a woman to marry who can. I disagree morally with many events that occurred in the book and was saddened that they were portrayed as acceptable Christian behavior.
A Deal With God has one of the most unique story-lines I have ever read. It is loosely based in fact, as the people really existed and really died at very young ages. Of course everything else is a work of fiction.

The way the women's lives intertwine is very strange. One dies, leaving behind three sons and a husband. The other is brought back from a coma by making a *deal with God*. The how and the why their lives come together are what really make this book worth reading though, and I don't want to spoil that for you.

It is portrayed as a Christian romance novel. If you are looking for a clean cut, probably doesn't actually happen in real life type novel you should probably skip this one. As a Christian from birth I can tell you that this is a more accurate representation of how it really is this day and age. The good news is that this book highlights how forgiving God is.

I think anyone would enjoy this, religious or not. Highly recommend!
