The Fate of Ten Lorien Legacies Book 6 eBook Pittacus Lore Reviews
Weird structure to this book. It makes you want a prequel. I can't say anymore without spoiling easily the most exciting part of the book. In my opinion, after reading this book, I think this whole series should have been a trilogy. First book I am Number 4 (basically how it is now, but with a few plot elements created after the publishing of this book, added in, to give it that epic feel). Second Book Prequel. Third Book After the events of I am Number 4, all the way to whatever final battle is in store for us in the seventh and last book (All those stupidly annoying plot elements like MogPro wiped out. It would only take the great parts of the other books, have a steady pace, not too fast or slow.)
Or, a 5 book series.
1. I am Number 4
2,3,4. Trilogy of all the garde meeting up, and basically all that plot stuff in the previous books.
5. Prequel, the basic purpose of which is to explain the "why?" of this entire series, and Setrakus Ra's purpose.
I think this is actually perfect because cutting out two books is the perfect length to remove all the annoying storylines, refine and condense this series to perfection, making every word count.
Been patiently (not so much, more like dieing for Sep. 1 to arrive) and just finished reading it. SUPER. FYI, I picked-up the series from me teenage kids. Thanks LK.
Those that don't know, "I Am Number Four" Series is slated to be a 7 book series. So.. One more to go. Thank goodness the great authors give use some nice reads while we wait.
Not going into the book itself, just read it, Read the series and the in between short stories.
I know some parents are reading to their younger family members and some have complained about a bit of, not for young ears language, rightly so. BUT if you're reading it too them, you can easy change the sentence structure. And if they're a bit older and reading themselves, it's a good possibility it's been heard before. Best read it yourself and decide. I would hate to have a great series like this not enjoyed.
I await the last book, impatiently as always.
As a final thought, since I suspect the authors read the reviews, please feel free to continue the journey on another planet.
Those looking for another great series, checkout "Michael Vey" You'll love it.
Action, comedy, suspense.... this series has me hooked and I waited a long time for this book. Unfortunately, I was under the impression this would be the final book, but again it's left on a cliffhanger so there will be at least 1 more. I'm glad there's more coming, but wish I would have gotten into this series later so I could read them all at once, that's my only complaint. For a brief rundown of the stories' theme, without spoilers Alien race sends its last surviving members to Earth in order to train and fight another alien race. The aliens have "superpowers" and are trying to prevent the same fate of their home world from happening to Earth. Go forth and be entertained.
While I agree that the series has begun to stall, and I'm not really looking forward to a year-long wait to hopefully see the final book, I don't agree with some of those that complained specifically about the aspects of this book. I thought the pacing was fine; one or two points where the story dragged but no moreso than any of the other volumes in the series. I could have done without the gratuitous language, but it wasn't as though the book was heavily laced with f-bombs; I counted only a couple of examples of cursing.
Unfortunately, the series keeps building and building (and building, and...building...) to this crescendo that has yet to happen. My biggest concern is that, unless the author pulls a major rabbit out of his hat - and does so without making fans wait an entire year - the ending will be so anticlimactic that it will taint the entire series.
I really hate to admit that I enjoyed this series. It's definitely made for teenagers and young adults, of which I am neither, but I was recuperating from a winter-long illness and my son bought it for me not knowing what it was. I laughed, thought "oh no", then dug in and even bought the sequels. It's not great literature. It's not flawlessly written, nor does it challenge the intellect. It's more of an action movie wannabe, but there was just enough suspense to keep you wanting to know what happened next. There are some very pedantic, somewhat sophomoric teen romance side stories, lukewarm but probably appropriate for the target audience, and the gargantuan slobbering alien animals were a bit over the top.
Maybe it was the fever, but it was easy, quick and entertaining for a time when I didn't need to be challenged.
